Operator payments

As a gig economy company, sorting out payment to our Crowddroners is very important and we want to make this process as easy as possible. Here you might answers to some of your questions to make things easier for you.

When do I get paid?

You get paid when a customer buys your marketplace data, or when you take a client mission for custom data capture. You will get paid within 30 days.

How do I get paid?

To get paid, you should first fill out the bank details in your profile. This allows GLOBHE to automatically send the money to your chosen bank account. In most cases, you get paid through a wire-transfer to the account number that you have chosen. Alternatively, you can choose other payment methods such as Stripe or Paypal. GLOBHE uses Xe Transfer, Wise, WorldRemit, and Remitly to pay the drone operators, depending on the country. We are working on finding more solutions to pay our Crowddroners in the easiest way possible.

Once a mission is completed or if a client buys your data, an invoice will appear in your profile. You will see a notification for that. Review the invoice details by making sure that the amount is correct and upload a pdf of the invoice directly on the page. You can then submit that so the system can proceed with creating the payment.

Should I have a registered company to get paid by GLOBHE?

To be able to take on paid gigs, the short answer is yes. An operator must have a registered company so that GLOBHE can invoice this company and make a wire transfer. However, if you don’t have your own company, you can register with companies like Cool Company so that you can invoice GLOBHE without having your own company. No registered company is needed to fly unpaid volunteer missions as long as you still have valid insurance and all legal permissions to fly required by law in the country of operation.

How much do I get paid?

Payment depends on the mission requirements, the types of equipment used, the location, and many more details. When you get invited to a mission, you can choose the rate you wish to have for that mission. Note that other operators are also invited to the mission and they might have other rates. So choose your rate carefully so that you are competitive and increase your chances of being assigned to the mission.

Sometimes, the drone operator price is included in the mission alerts sent out to drone operators to accept or decline. In this case, you simply need to show your interest and a GLOBHE admin will assign you to the mission, if you qualify.
